Key Words

CEL -The Community Esports League.

Player - The individual that is competing in the CEL.

Team - The team the Player is registering for with a full 5v5 Player roster.

Free Agent - A Player competing as a single individual looking for a Team.

Participant - The Team represented in the CEL.

Game - A single Soccer Rocket League Game played to completion.

Match - One (1) Game is considered a Match.

Game Day - Match times are Monday and Wednesdays at 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. All times are in CST

League Officials - Representatives of the CEL.

League Structure

Regular Season

Four Week Season

  1. Matches will be played on Monday and Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. All times are in CST
    1. Participants will play One (1) Game against their opponent Participant per One (1) Match.
  2. Tiebreakers.
    1. If Participants that have the same score at the end of the regular season, the tying Participants will face off in a single Game where the winner takes the higher placement.
    2. If more than Two (2) Participants are tied, we will follow a single-elimination bracket style format. All Matches will be One (1) Game and will be randomly seeded.
      1. Participants will compete in all necessary Matches where all Participants will end with their appropriate placement.
  3. Leaderboard.
    1. Participant’s total points at the end of the Regular Season will determine their placing.
      1. 1 win = 1 point
    2. The Participant with the most points at the end of the Regular Season will be declared the Champion of the Season.

Team Structure

  1. Players will register as a Free Agent or a Team. If a Player registers as a Free Agent, they will be assigned to a random Team by League Officials at the end of the registration period.
    1. League Officials will assign Teams by rank of Free Agents as best as possible.

Match Procedure

  1. Please ensure the integrity of your internet connection before checking in for a Match.
  2. Check In starts 15 minutes before the scheduled Match time.
    1. EXAMPLE:
      1. Check in starts at 6:15 P.M. for Matches that take place at 6:30 P.M.
  3. Participants are allowed a maximum of a 10 minute break in between Games.
    1. If a Participant is unable to play within 10 minutes of the previous Game, the Participant may be subject to a forfeit of the upcoming Game.
  4. Each Participant has 60 minutes from Game start time to report all scores, or the Participant will be given a disqualification for that Game.
    1. EXAMPLE:
      1. If Games start at 6:30 P.M., they must be reported by 7:30 P.M.

No Show Punishments

  1. No Shows.
    1. Each Participant will have a 15 minute grace period to start their Match. If a team does not start within this window, they may be disqualified or subject to point deduction.
    2. In the event that a Participant does not check in and show up for a scheduled Match, the Participant will forfeit half of their league points from the previous week.
      1. In the event this occurs in week one the Participant will remain at zero points and begin gaining points in week two.
    3. In the event that your opponent does not show for their Match, Participant will proceed with the Match as planned and play a normal online Match; report your score as normal.

Reporting Scores

  1. Each Participant is responsible for acquiring a screenshot/photo of the final score after each Game and reporting it on the Website.
    1. If a Participant does not report a score, their scores will be forfeited for that Game or Match.

Game Rules and Regulations

  1. 3v3 Match Setup
    1. Players will set up a custom game lobby and invite their opponent.
      1. The map will be chosen at random by League Officials.
      2. All Matches will be in Soccer mode with unlimited Overtime. No Bots or Rumble will be allowed.
      3. All settings are default aside from specified changes.
    2. The home Team will Host.
      1. Players must host from their geographical location.
        1. If the player resides in North America - you must choose NA, you cannot choose EU servers.
      2. After Game one (1), the losing Team may choose to switch the server.
        1. If the Game server is changed, a new lobby will need to be created by the newly hosting Team.
          1. All settings and regulations applied to the original lobby will apply to any new lobbies made.
    3. Crossplay is permitted and Players are eligible to compete in Xbox, Playstation, Switch, or PC. All Players on a single Team do not need to be on the same platform.
    4. Players will play up to Three (3) Games in a Best of Three (3) format. First Team to win two (2) Games will be deemed the winner of the Match.
    5. All Match wins are worth one (1) point and losses will be granted zero (0) points.
    6. Opposing Participants are not permitted to work together in any capacity.
    7. A Game is considered concluded once a Team has ended with a higher score.
      1. Overtime will be in effect in case of a tie during regulation.
    8. If a Player disconnects from the Game, the Team will be allowed fifteen (15) minutes to reconnect. If all Players on a Team are not in the Game after the allotted window, the Team with the disconnection will be given a loss.
    9. All Player names must be appropriate (i.e. No sexism, racism, derogatory and other hateful words/phrases in Player names
      1. Once all Player names have been seen and internally reviewed by League Officials, name changes may not be made.
      2. Names are reviewed at registration of the Team.
    10. No bugs may be utilized for competitive advantage.
    11. League Officials highly suggest recording/streaming your gameplay in case you need to verify sabotage or competitive rulings.

General Conduct

  1. Player Responsibilities.
    1. It is the responsibility of the players in the Match to detect all Match Rule violations and report them to League Officials immediately.
    2. It is the responsibility of the players to report their Match and/or score to the Website within the designated time frame.
    3. It is the responsibility of the players to report Rule violations at the time they happened. Any late reports may not be judged.
    4. It is the responsibility of the players to not interfere with a Match in progress. Should a player see an issue in a Match they are not a part of, they are to report it to a League Official.
    5. League Officials highly suggest recording/streaming your Game play in case you need to verify sabotage.
    6. Players may not collude for or against their opponent to present an unfair advantage.
    7. Unsportsmanlike behavior is not allowed. Friendly banter is at the discretion of each individual player, although we ask that you be understanding of jokes and fun being had.
    8. Spamming voice lines or emote taunting is not allowed.
    9. Abuse of an exploit to seek an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited. Violators are subject to penalties by League Officials.
    10. Any Third-Party program that negatively affects the integrity of the Tournament, Program, Stream, Event, Player, and/or Game will be considered Prohibited. This is defined as a program or device that provides an unfair advantage. This is including but not limited to Macro Programs, Turbo Modes or Function, Programmable controllers, or Sequence Mapping.
  2. League Official Responsibilities.
    1. It is the responsibility of the League Official to act civil in all disputes.
    2. It is the responsibility of the League Official to report any rule violations on behalf of a player.
    3. It is the responsibility of the League Official to be impartial to all judgement.

Spirit of the Rules

  1. Finality of Decisions.
    1. All decisions regarding the interpretation of rules listed are solely decided by League Officials.
    2. All rules not outlined in the rule book are up to the interpretation of League Officials, who have the discretion to punish based on the severity.
  2. Rule Changes.
    1. These rules may be changed at any time to ensure fair play and integrity of the league.
