Summer LCS Proving Grounds Circuit Qualifier #1: Main Event & Top 16 Updates

Unified 5/30/2022

After a 32-team open qualifier series that saw a mix of new and mainstays in collegiate and amateur League of Legends clashing virtually on Summoner's Rift, our top 16 teams have moved on to the Summer LCS Proving Ground Circuit Qualifiers main event. Starting Monday, May 30th 3:00PM PT, matches will be streamed live across both Academy and the new PathToLCS Twitch channels. Unified will once again oversee tournament and broadcast operations.

While the final standings don’t do justice to every hard fought battle these teams faced–with many incredibly close calls leaving a single match difference between advancement or disqualification–these 16 teams undeniably earned their placement by securing three or more wins in the Swiss Bracket open qualifiers.

Unified and staff are honored to be your hosts for another exciting iteration of Proving Grounds Circuit Qualifiers, and thank each and every team that has expressed interest in competing in this path-to-pro experience. Congratulations to our Top 16 teams, moving on to the main event:

Join us as we cover each round! Group stage matches will be played every Monday and Tuesday from May 30th through June 13th, with playoffs happening on June 14th, 20th, and 21st. These matches will be a Best of 3 Round, with the top 8 teams (two from each group) advancing to a single elimination playoff bracket.

In addition to taking home a piece of the $12,500 prize pool, the 10 teams scoring the highest will also receive “points” that determine eligibility for the main LCS Proving Grounds event.

Teams and talent are encouraged to follow Unified to be notified of future esports opportunities; we aim to directly serve the amateur space by continuing to unify aspiring champions through virtual and on-site competitions.
