Unified Esports Association 4/21/2021
Unified Esports Association's Spring semester leagues have concluded, and we are proud to announce our finalists! As part of the Unified Collegiate Esports Association (UCEA) and the Riot Games-partnered Midwest Esports Conference (MEC), Rocket League and League of Legends teams fought for nearly $22,000 in scholarship prizing this semester. The UCEA Spring semester concluded this past weekend, with the undefeated Winthrop Eagles taking first place in Rocket League. The Grand Finals match saw Durham Lords Esports returning and securing second place after their first UCEA Finals appearance last Fall. Congratulations to our top four teams! We hope to see all of our Spring schools take the field again this Fall; application information will be available next month for those looking to join. All semester long, college League of Legends teams clashed each weekend live on stream as they fought for a collective $20,000 in scholarships between both tournament series. Additionally, the first place winner in the Midwest Esports Conference (Grand View University) earned a spot to compete in the official League of Legends College Championships this Spring! Congratulations to our winning teams: While the MEC is typically a physical conference, this season was presented entirely online. We are excited to announce that Unified and partners will be returning to live collegiate events this Fall, and look forward to bringing League of Legends conference matches--as well as dozens of community gaming tournaments and events--to campuses across the Midwest starting in September! Is your school interested in applying for a place in the conference? We’re looking for competitive, collegiate teams with the capacity to host live events on-campus or in adjacent venue space, with the university backing to be able to travel for competitions cross-state. Think your team has what it takes? Give us an email to learn more or get started! After an intense Winter season, we’re eager to dive right back into daily esports broadcasts with Upsurge’s Spring lineup on Twitch! Every weekday evening, catch the Upsurge leagues streaming live across several channels. Match previews and live game coverage, including clips and highlights from the streams, will be shared exclusively on the Upsurge Twitter account, so make sure to give it a follow. New this season, we’re proud to announce additional Rocket League streams through our partnership with UGC! UGC has been a staple in the esports event and production community; we are proud to level up our partnership with their team and provide more esports and broadcasting opportunities for our leagues. As of Monday, April 12th, you can now watch double the weekly games by tuning in on Twitch.tv/UGC! Our Spring season is well underway, but we're already looking forward to Summer applications. We'll have more information about the exciting new opportunities with Unified and Upsurge coming next month, so stay tuned! It’s been over a year since Unified Esports Association (UEA)--still under the Midwest Esports brand--hosted our last physical events with GalaxyCon, Richmond and the Springfield Esports Festival hosted at Drury University. Since then, we’ve been happy to see new and familiar faces joining us for the variety of online leagues or community events we’ve hosted virtually. However, we are thrilled to announce the return of live esports events with both the Midwest Esports Conference this Fall, and a lineup of exciting Esports Festivals with partners across the country! We’re planning our 2021-2022 road map and want to hear from you. Businesses, colleges, or communities looking to host physical esports events of any scale are invited to reach out to us to learn more about our event service opportunities. Whether you just need software or equipment rentals for running your own tournaments, or you’re looking for full support from the ground up, Unified is a turnkey esports solution. Looking to learn more, or interested in online event service opportunities? Through our established and accessible Community Esports League platform--which rewards partners for referring new players--to fully customized online offerings, Unified and our partners have the solution to level up your game. ??
